Riverbend (where Laurelwood is located) in all its pristine beauty is considered a nature reserve. On the way to the cabin you may routinely see deer and groundhogs along the way. Within the acreage thousands of species of animals thrive here including many species of birds, fish, beavers, groundhogs, deer, coyotes, and more.
Laurelwood Lodge sleeps 12 with 4 bedrooms, 3 complete baths with jacuzzi tubs, the spacious Great Room, a complete well equipped kitchen and a fun gameroom. Guests love Laurelwood because they can gather in the gameroom, take a soak in the hot tub or curl up with a book in the privacy of their own space. The cabin is comfortably furnished and offers many amenities including smart TV's and fast WIFI.
Prepare your family meals in our comfortable and homestyle kitchen complete with everything you need including quality stainless cookware, table settings for 12 (main table not shown), gas range, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, etc. Ask about it and we probably have it. Every year we host families at Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years who are preparing large meals for their celebrations. Our guests love having everything provided for their special meals.

Sit, relax, and curl up with a great book! Laurelwood offers not 1 but 2 spacious decks to relax on. The top deck is acessed from the main level. You will feel like you are in a treehouse while rocking on this elevated deck over 35 feet in the air! With views of Fairfield mountain, a pasture and the creek below. Want a more private place to get away? The front porch is quiet and inviting with an antique porch swing and rocking chairs.
Guests always have wonderful things to say about the hot tub! "Great at the end of a long day of hiking", "Meticulously clean and refreshing" the hot tub is well maintained and accessed from the spacious lower deck though the basement/gameroom area. It is private with wind screens yet offers a beautiful wooded view. This Hot Springs hot tub holds 6 people for a nice relaxing soak. Water and chemicals are well maintained by our cleaning staff to assure a sanitary and pleasurable experience.

One of the most popular amenities we offer at Laurelwood Lodge is the free use of our innertubes, kayaks, and canoes! We provide safety gear (paddles and lifejackets) and boats, nature provides the River and lakes, and you provide the fun! Mirror Lake is just down the hill 2 minutes from the house. As Riverbend's pristine premier lake it is a popular spot to cool off on a hot summer day. If you want a more adventurous time try the French Broad River that runs through the property.
There are so many fun things to do in Lake Lure! Laurelwood Lodge is conveniently located, just minutes away from great swimming places, tubing, kayaking, fishing, golfing, hiking trails, and the super exhilerating Zipline Course. Spend the day at the big Lake, Mirror Lake, or along the French broad River. A little further away there are many fun daytrips just a short driving distance including Black Mountain, Mt. Mitchell, the Blue ridge Parkway, Hendersonville, Sliding Rock and Brevard.
